Welcome to my blog.

If you're like me and have an interest in demanding species but are limited in space, reef keeping is probably a frustrating and masochistic endeavor. My personal interests lie in sps and other uncommon organisms. Unfortunately, the more coveted specimens have always been kept under high flow, high light conditions; conditions which have traditionally, and continue to be somewhat off limits to those in the nano-reef subtype.

Recent advances in technology have provided the means of condensing the abilities of larger systems into smaller packages. However, few solutions exist to do so in a technically aesthetic manner. In this blog, I will attempt to design and build technical equipment that will allow me to replicate the conditions of the substantially larger tanks where my specimens come from; while striving to do so in a matter both efficient and aesthetically pleasing.

I will also post novel information pertaining to reef keeping, trying to draw mostly from primary literature. Lastly, this blog will, from time to time, feature guest writers who will offer up tips and tactics of interest to the modern reefkeeper; ie photography, husbandry and so on. All writers will either be experts in their fields or advanced hobbyists whose tanks successfully demonstrate the points being highlighted.
